BantuPlatform: Web Platform for Emergency Situation
Problem #1: "Where to give my donation? What to give to disaster victims? How to participate as volunteer? When can I donate my blood? How can I help?" These informations were cluttered around social media.
Problem #2: People in Indonesia tends to share #PrayForSomething instead of #DoSomething.
Solution and Innovation:
The concept was to create a web-based database which gathered informations on how to help the natural disaster victims in Indonesia, that can be accessed by anyone. The informations are categorized into Blood Donation, Money Donation, Items Donation, Charity, Volunteering, and Disaster Command Post.
The platform is labeled as #BantuIndonesia ("Bantu" means "Help") to encourage people to share it on their social media. In 2013, the platform is used again to help the flood victims in Jakarta, and labeled as #BantuJakarta.
#BantuIndonesia can be visited in http://bantuindonesia.indonesianyouthconference.org, while #BantuJakarta in http://bantujakarta.sinergimuda.org and http://twitter.com/BantuJakarta.
