"We understand the world as a place that needs us; we are people of action

We believe in taking care of the problems when and where they happen

We understand that we must work for the world we want

AND NO ONE BUT US WILL GIVE US THE FUTURE WE DREAM OF"

(Generation CONCAUSA 2016)

Do you have a project that is helping to overcome child poverty in its different manifestations?

If you think so and you are between 14 and 17 years old, we invite you to join "CONCAUSA," an initiative of América Solidaria, ECLAC, and UNICEF with the support of the Caserta Foundation. CONCAUSA seeks to identify and disseminate proposals for social innovation that young people in America are carrying out in their communities. This initiative follows the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, a set of global objectives to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all.

We invite you to present what you are doing in your community or country to contribute to sustainable development and overcome child poverty!

Stages:

APPLICATION:

  • Form a team of 3 young people from 14 to 17 years old, at least one of whom speaks Spanish
  • Present a letter of formal support from an institution (school, youth organization, etc.), endorsing the participation of the team and designating a responsible adult as tutor and chaperone, who will accompany them to Santiago de Chile in case they are selected. Download the template of the letter HERE
  • The team must have the permission of their parents to travel for a week to Santiago de Chile.

Once you have all the above, you must create an account on this platform (you can log in with Facebook) and upload a video to YouTube presenting your proposal, maximum 180 seconds in length. The video link is added to the application form.

Do you have doubts about how to make a good video? Check this support material (click).

For more information, check the guidelines (link below).

SELECTION:

17 teams will be selected to travel to Santiago de Chile during the month of November 2019, with all expenses paid (airfare, ground transport, lodging, food, insurance), to present their proposals and to participate in the CONCAUSA meeting.

TRAVEL PREPARATION:

If your team was selected, you will have the support of the CONCAUSA coordinator in your country, and we will coordinate with the designated tutor to formalize details of your trip. Each member will have to have a permission from the parents and a letter of support from the institution, both formalized before a notary, authorizing their trip to Santiago de Chile and participation in the meeting for a week.

MEETING:

Each selected team will travel to Santiago de Chile to present their project, share it and work on it together with a team of experts and other young people from the Americas, in a series of entertaining, dynamic and innovative days.

The week ends with the presentation of the projects in a Summit of Ideas at ECLAC, in front of their peers and representatives of América Solidaria, ECLAC, UNICEF and the Caserta Foundation
